Tommy Steele | Age 85
Tommy Steele is considered to be the first teen idol in the UK. A son of a father tipster and a mother who worked in the factory, Steele was bred in a family that taught him about hard work, and boy did it pay off for him. After failing to get in the military due to health issues, Steele took a u-turn and made his way to the entertainment business. He took his banjo and guitar and started to perform in little cafes.
The rest of the story is already known, as Steele rose to stardom thanks to his many talents of singing, acting, writing and even sculpting. Today life seems to be smiling towards the star, as he continues writing songs for other artists. In 2019, he got the Lifetime Achievement Award by the British Music Hall Society, and was knighted for his contribution to the British entertainment industry.
