Meredith has been married four times and is a mother to five children. Robert Lewis was her first husband with whom she parted ways in 1971. She later married David Birney in 1974, and the couple separated in 1989. Baxter’s third marriage was to Micheal Blodgett, which went on for five years. In 2009 Meredith shared that she was a lesbian. She got married to Nancy Locke in 2013.
