Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn – 75 Years

Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn have set a new milestone for being the longest-married presidential couple. Rosalynn was Jimmy’s younger sister’s friend, and both knew each other since childhood. But the love blossomed when Jimmy finally noticed Ruth for the first time during his U.S Naval Academy leave. Ruth initially had a crush on Jimmy and was trying for years to at least get noticed.

Both quickly resonated with each other and married on July 7, 1946. They currently live in Plains along with their vast family. Over the years, they have faced several ups and downs, including Jimmy getting diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015.
