The Merry Pranksters Road Trip

The 1960s marked the birth of the Hippie culture in America. Hippies were considered to be outcasts who did not belong and rebelled against the conventional social structures. However, hippies were often accused of promoting drug abuse. This was a tumultuous phase in America when a lot of things were transpiring. This particular picture was taken in 1964 when the band of Merry Pranksters took a painted bus from California to New York in a bid to travel around America. These hippies united under the common social fabric of outrightly rejecting the Vietnam war, government policies, societal rules, and much more.
