Forever Young
After the closure of San Francisco’s Fox Theatre, the hippies took it upon themselves to keep their memory alive forever. Many dressed up for the dance performances and bought everything that was left from their stock. The duo dancing in this picture can be seen celebrating the freedom and spontaneity of life. This popular movement was one of a kind and was widely documented. Hippies lived by one motto, “Live and let live.” Most of them were college dropouts who rejected the social norms. They believed in dancing freely, even on the roads, without feeling ashamed about anything. They simply didn’t care what society thought of them.
